Loadbreak Connector System
The new Cooper Power Systems Cleer Loadbreak Connector System is the only 600-A/15-kV single-phase rated loadbreak connector in the industry. This separable connector solution offers both a visible break and visible ground without having to de-energize, unbolt 600-A terminations or move heavy cables. This system offers an efficient and reliable visible break when used for sectionalizing, splicing or in-line with vacuum switchgear. For operators working on a piece of energized equipment, the patented Cleer Connector System provides peace of mind through visible front-panel circuit traceability.
The retrofittable Cleer Loadbreak Connector System offers several key features that make it critical to the power industry's challenge of balancing operating efficiency and reliability for fast restoration of service. The C-shaped Cleer Loadbreak allows circuit isolation without the need to de-energize. Timed studies prove the simple push-pull operation achieves the Cleer visible break 50% faster than bolted terminations. The loadbreak connector is fully submersible and, therefore, an ideal solution in both surface and subsurface installations that are prone to flooding. The compact design allows for easy sectionalizing in tight spaces, while the adjustable bracket on the assembly allows mounting at various angles for easy access, even from aboveground for vault applications.

Sequence of Events Recorder Update
Cyber Sciences announces significant new capabilities to its line of CyTime Sequence of Events Recorders, model SER-3200, for power and automation systems. The version 1.10 update, available for free download by existing customers, adds automatic time sync with an NTP network time server, as well as several other enhancements requested by customers.
The CyTime features 32 high-speed digital inputs to monitor the status of a variety of key power system elements, such as breaker and switch status, generator operation, UPS and battery readiness, and relay alarms. In addition, any event can be activated to trigger a coincident waveform-capture by a compatible power meter.
Up to now, the CyTime has been used in large critical-power facilities such as hospitals, data centers and refineries, as it required an IRIG-B GPS input for its precision time reference. With the new NTP option, the CyTime becomes an affordable stand-alone “forensics tool” for facility managers of smaller data centers, server rooms or other installations with complex power networks and alternate power sources. The CyTime event recorder's integral Web server presents the status of all monitored equipment at a glance, as well as a detailed record of all events time-stamped to 1-msec resolution — all over an Ethernet network using a standard Web browser. The event log reveals what happened and when, providing valuable insight into an incident's root cause or advance warning of potential problems before they cause an outage. Whether used as a stand-alone event recorder or part of a complete sequence of events recording system, the CyTime enables new visibility into power system operations.

Crimping Tool
The 6-Ton Battery-Powered Crimping Tool from Thomas & Betts features a balanced, ergonomic, in-line design that allows for one-handed operation while yielding 6 tons of output force. This makes it an ideal choice for crimping service entry connectors and lugs, as well as splicing up to 300 kcmil copper or 4/0 AWG aluminum wire.
The tool head of the 6-Ton Battery-Powered Crimping Tool includes fixed ⅝-inch BG and D crimp grooves, includes an O-die insert and is compatible with all W-style dies. Its jaws automatically return to the open position after completing a crimp, but the setting can be disabled to make the tool easier to operate in confined positions. The tool operates quietly with minimum of vibration. It is equipped with a maximum pressure valve for operational safety.

Data Logger
TDK-EPC, a group company of the TDK Corp., presents the EPCOS DataLOG SD data logger for the EPCOS PFC controllers BR6000-R12/S485 (from V5.0) and BR7000.
This newly developed data-recording equipment can be used to record and store all the values measured by the controller. An SD card with a storage capacity of 1 GB is included in the scope of delivery. Evaluation software for Windows PCs is also included and allows the measured values to be analyzed.
The data logger allows the recording of grid parameters as well as the relevant parameters of a PFC system inclusive of switching sequences and the switching-on time of all steps as well as the temperature. Depending on the measuring intervals, the recording time can be extended up to several weeks.
The data logger is connected directly to the controller interface via the supplied Ethernet cable.

Pole Protection System
Timber utility poles have always been economic, readily available and environmentally friendly. Their weak point has always been the ground line section of the pole where conditions for decay and rot are ideal; poles traditionally rot through and break at this point.
The Polesaver dual-layer heat-shrink barrier system offers a simple solution to this problem by keeping the preservative in and the causes of decay and rot out at the vulnerable ground line section of the pole.
The nontoxic Polesaver sleeves are available in a wide range of sizes, are low in cost, and are quickly and easily heat applied, in the factory or on site as required, using readily available low-cost application equipment. Polesaver sleeves can be used with all timber and preservative types. Polesaver eliminates the need for costly ongoing inspection and remedial pole treatment.

Primary Injection Test Set
While capable of delivering 900 A continuously and 5,000 A for short periods, the new Ingvar primary current injection test set from Megger is portable, making it ideal for on-site use, even in applications such as underground substations where access would be difficult or impossible for larger test sets. The design has been optimized to minimize inrush current, making it suitable for use on systems with limited capacity.
Ingvar consists of a power module and a separate control module, which are housed in robust carrying cases. In addition to enhancing portability, this two-module arrangement allows the power module to be positioned close to the equipment under test, thereby reducing the length of test leads needed, while the control module is positioned for ease of access.
Typical applications include primary injection relay testing; circuit breaker testing up to 500-A nominal current and 5,000-A instantaneous current; checking phase, polarity and phase angle of current transformers; heat runs; testing grounding systems; and evaluating the performance of automatic reclosers and sectionalizers.
