United States: New Mexico Electric Co-op Selects Oncor Utility Solutions to Enhance Operations
Kit Carson Electric Cooperative Inc. (KCEC; Taos, New Mexico) selected Oncor Utility Solutions (Dallas, Texas) to assist in improving the efficiency of its operations and to better serve its 25,000 members in northern New Mexico.
As is the case with many other energy cooperatives, KCEC is well supported by its local community and wants to serve its members as efficiently as possible. With this relationship, KCEC can draw on the expertise and economies-of-scale offered by Oncor Utility Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of TXU (Dallas). Representatives from both companies have thoroughly analyzed KCEC's operations and asset-management practices, and have identified opportunities to apply best-in-class practices. This should result in better cost control for KCEC, while improving service for its members.
Initially, Oncor Utility Solutions conducted an analysis of KCEC's operations and general business practices to determine where additional efficiencies and performance improvements could be achieved. This agreement focuses on asset utilization, operations efficiencies and energy supply.
