USIEnergy Provides EMS For EPT Management

USIEnergy Inc. (Norcross, Georgia, U.S.) will provide a total energy management program for EPT Management Co. (EPT, El Paso, Texas, U.S.). The program will provide energy management services (EMS) and billing management services (BMS) for 24,000 apartment units in 16 states.

The EMS will include energy reporting and analysis, rate and tariff auditing, utility bill payment and vacancy cost recovery services. In addition, USIEnergy will pool energy requirements for EPT properties, help obtain stand-alone contracts with all energy providers and advise EPT on future energy contracting decisions in markets where deregulation has been mandated but is not yet in effect.

The BMS will include ratio utility billing systems (RUBS) for the 83-property EPT portfolio. Existing billing data will be phased into the USIEnergy billing engine. Under RUBS, residents are billed proportionately for total utility use.
