WebTech Meets BGE's Fleet Management Needs
Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.) has entered into a contract with WebTech Wireless Inc. (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada), a leading telematics service provider serving fleets, to purchase the WebTech Wireless Locator T3000 and Quadrant fleet services portal to manage its materials distribution fleet with tracking and equipment-monitoring services.
BGE's Materials Distribution Division has installed WebTech Locator T3000s on its tractor-trailer rigs and flatbed trucks that deliver materials to construction crews throughout its Central Maryland service territory.
The WebTech Locator T3000 and Quadrant fleet services portal enable BGE's Material Distribution dispatch to pinpoint a delivery truck's location at any moment. The Quadrant fleet services portal also provides an online telematics command center to monitor the operation of onboard vehicle cranes and report on worker panic button alarms.
BGE's Material Distribution Division has realized a 14% cost savings since it installed the WebTech fleet-tracking and equipment-monitoring services and RIMMS software from Descartes. Together the RIMMS software and WebTech's wireless fleet services provide a comprehensive fleet-management system that will keep workers safe and keep the company competitive and efficient.
