Nashville Electric Service to Launch Automated Bill Payment Service at Convenience Stores
Nashville Electric Service (NES; Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.) and TIO Networks Corp., (TNC; Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada), formerly Info Touch Technologies Corp., will team up to launch a self-serve automated bill payment service that will allow NES's 340,000 customers to pay their bills at 20 Exxon Mobil Tigermarket and On the Run convenience stores in Nashville.
Commencing in the summer of 2006, cash-preferred NES customers will be able to make real-time, self-serve automated bill payments, 24-hours-a-day, through the TIO Network. Payments can be made by inserting cash directly into cash-accepting E-Wiz ATMs. Transactions are securely completed in English or Spanish, and all payments will be posted immediately to the customer’s account. Customers pay a US$2 convenience fee per transaction. In January 2005, E-Wiz branded kiosks were deployed by ExxonMobil to the Nashville market to offer cash-preferred clients convenient access to a wide variety of cash-based financial transactions, including but not limited to bill payment, prepaid products, long-distance, wireless top-up and directory assistance.
“At NES we are always looking for ways to make it easier for our customers to conduct business with us,” said NES President and CEO Decosta Jenkins. “When TIO Networks approached us about partnering with them and Exxon Mobil to provide our customers with this convenient bill-payment option, it was an easy decision for us to make.”
