Nearly 4,300 FirstEnergy Corp. workers representing all 10 FirstEnergy utilities, assisted by 1,400 contractor personnel, are working day and night to restore power to the 132,000 Mon Power and Potomac Edison customers who remain without service following severe storms on June 29.

Workers are responding to more than 25,000 locations with damage from fallen trees or other debris and more than 12,300 locations of downed wires and other hazardous situations. To protect public safety, securing hazardous situations such as downed wires is a top priority for workers, along with repairs to transmission lines, hospitals, communications facilities, emergency response agencies and substation facilities that supply power for local distribution systems.
