PPL and National Park Service Reach Settlement Allowing Vegetation Maintenance on Key Power Line

PPL Electric Utilities has reached a court-approved settlement with the National Park Service that will allow the utility to trim vegetation around a key power line in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area near Bushkill, Pennsylvania.

"We're pleased that we were able to resolve this matter amicably," said David E. Schleicher, vice president-Transmission.

Under an agreement reached Tuesday, PPL Electric Utilities will have immediate access to park service land to perform needed vegetation maintenance work on the 1.5-mile section of 230-kV power line. The company also will be entitled to perform routine vegetation maintenance in future years, after reasonable advance notice.
