SCE&G has about 1,00 SCE&G and about 300 out-of-state workers (linemen, dispatchers, tree trimmers, etc.) ready to respond.
SCE&G crews have begun responding to outages across its service territory in South Carolina as a result of Winter Storm Pax. As of 10 a.m., there were approximately 25,000 outages across the service territory, but those numbers are changing often as the winter weather continues to set in with ice and winds predicted to increase throughout the day. More than 300 out of state crew members have joined 1,200 SCE&G field personnel to help restore power to customers in need as efficiently and safely as possible. SCE&G also is exploring the availability of additional assistance from out-of-state crews.
Customer service personnel are on site to handle calls and questions from customers throughout the event. Call 1-888-333-4465 to report an outage. You can also report outages by:
- Mobile device: Report and check the status of your power outage online from your internet-ready mobile device or phone by visiting www.sceg.com/mobile and clicking on 'Outages & Emergencies'.
- By text: Register for SCE&G’s text option online at www.sceg.com. Simply login to your account and look for the "Activate Text Options” under the "Account Options” feature and then follow the instructions. Once you are registered, if you are experiencing an outage, simply text the word "OUT” to 467234 (gosceg).
