IREA Installs 13 Unguyed Structures
Intermountain Rural Electric Association (IREA; Sedalia, Colorado, U.S.) recently installed 13 E-LAM unguyed angle distribution poles along the Castle Pines PGA Golf Course in Castle Rock, Colorado. The project was on a fast track from the beginning so that construction could be completed before a televised PGA tournament took place at the course.
The utility wanted the line to look as natural and unobtrusive as possible because of the visually sensitive location of the line. Stanley Consultants' Englewood, Colorado, branch designed the line and specified the E-LAM structures from Laminated Wood Systems (LWS; Seward, Nebraska, U.S.) because of their natural, aesthetic appearance and their ability to blend in with their surroundings and other round-wood construction. The project required delivery of the structures four weeks from the time of placing the order. LWS delivered them on time and at a competitive cost.
