Poland Installs 110kV Line Using ACCC Conductor
Composite Technology Corp. has installed a 110kV line, using ACCC conductor, for PGE Dystrybucja Bialystok in Poland. The composite conductor was supplied by Lamifil using ACCC core supplied by CTC Cable Corp.
The 2 kilometer line, which is part of a line that runs between Bielsk Podlaski and Hajnowka (an urbanized area in Eastern Poland), was strung with ACCC Helsinki conductor on existing steel towers. This conductor was selected in preference to a larger ACSR conductor, which allowed the existing towers to be used The ACSR solution would have required new, higher towers to be constructed. The installation was completed on June 22.
