Singapore: Pirelli Subsidiary to Reinforce Singapore's Power Transmission Network

The Singaporean power utility SP PowerAssets Ltd., a subsidiary of Singapore Power, has awarded Comergy Ltd., a subsidiary of Pirelli Energy Cables and Systems (Milan, Italy), a Euro 50 million contract to supply and install 400-kV PPL oil-filled power cables, auxiliary cables and accessories to reinforce the country's power transmission network.

Comergy will supply and install the 400-kV cables for SP PowerAssets across the central part of the city-state. Two Pirelli plants, one in Eastleigh and the other in Bishopstoke, both located in the United Kingdom, will manufacture the power cables and cable power accessories in line with the customer's requirements.
