Switzerland: BRUGG Switzerland Offers 500-kV XLPE Cables
After the successful completion of a 400-kV prequalification test according to IEC 62067 in 2003, Swiss-based cable manufacturer BRUGG Cables announced a further step in its development of high-voltage XLPE cable technology. In June 2004, BRUGG Cables successfully passed a type test for a 500-kV XLPE cable system — comprising cable, termination and joint — CESI Laboratories in Milan. This test certifies BRUGG Cables as a qualified supplier of high-voltage XLPE cables up to 500 kV.
