Ameren Missouri Strives to Educate Public on Electrical Safety | Parting Shot July 2012

Ameren Missouri strives to educate the public on how to be safe around electricity. As part of this effort, linemen are visiting local grade schools to demonstrate this commitment to safety, to the customers and to the communities.

For example, Dwayne Foley, a lineman and troubleman for Ameren Missouri, visited Annunciation Catholic Grade School in Webster Groves, Missouri, in April. Foley's message to the 150 students was to stay away from all downed lines. He used the mobile demonstration trailer and a hot dog to show what could happen when an energized line is touched. Through this important lesson, Foley tried to spark the students' interest in power line safety both now and in the future.
