It has been just over a month since Winter Storm Pax hit the United States, with the Southeast bearing the brunt of the ice and snow. Georgia Power was particularly hit hard, facing 701,000 outages at the peak. The storm pushed two rounds of wintry weather across the South from Feb. 10 to Feb. 13. The second round produced the heaviest amounts of freezing rain, sleet and snow across the region.
Between Feb. 11 and Feb. 15, 2014, Georgia Power managed one of the worst ice storms in the company's history... in fact, it was one of the worst storms in recent Georgia history, according to the utility. Within four days, Georgia Power had restored power to 99 percent of the customers impacted by the storm.
