Chance® has introduced the new Safetyshield™ Hot Stick Barrier for clampsticks, hooksticks and elbow-puller tools. The patented device quickly mounts with a non-metal clamp and fastener on 1-1/4-inch and 1-1/2-inch diameter live line tools to add a protective transparent screen of flame-retardant polycarbonate between a lineman and a potential electrical arc flashback hazard. Tested per ASTM Standard F2522-05, the Safetyshield™ Barrier is available in three diameters of 16, 21, and 24 inches ( 406.4, 533.4 and 609 mm), ranging in weight from 1 lb 6 oz (10 kg) to 2 lb 14 oz (21 kg). Each comes in a bright orange protective storage case with instructions.
