Public Hearings on Proposed Poland Road Transmission Project are Canceled

Aug. 14, 2015
The hearings had been scheduled for Aug. 18 in Leesburg and Aug. 25 in Chantilly.

The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) has canceled two local public hearings in case number PUE-2015-00053 on Dominion Virginia Power’s proposal to build a 230-kV transmission line loop and substation in Loudoun County in the vicinity of Poland Road.

The hearings had been scheduled for Aug. 18 in Leesburg and Aug. 25 in Chantilly.  In his ruling canceling the hearings, Hearing Examiner Michael D. Thomas said the hearings will be rescheduled to provide the public with the opportunity to comment on routes proposed for the project.

Dominion has applied to the SCC to build an approximately four-mile overhead transmission line between a tap of the existing Loudoun-Brambleton Line and the proposed substation. More information on the project is available here.
