A carefully designed traffic management plan will be implemented to enable National Grid to deliver a vital revamp to the local electricity network in West Thurrock, UK.

Engineers will install a new underground high voltage cable which will connect two overhead lines and help ensure the region remains plugged into sufficient safe and reliable power supplies to meet its needs.

Work will take place at the Lakeside roundabout on the A1306 Arterial Road, West Thurrock. Temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be implemented for approximately eight weeks. National Grid states it is doing all it can to deliver the work as smoothly and promptly as possible.

Project Manager Allan Hokonya explained: “We’ve sat down and discussed our plans with Thurrock Council to make sure we avoid any road closures and minimize any inconvenience to road users and the community.”

He added: “It’s National Grid’s job to connect people to their energy supplies. Our vital work here will help make sure people continue to enjoy safe and reliable electricity supplies in their homes, businesses and community facilities.”
