CL&P Completing Restoration Efforts
Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P), a part of Northeast Utilities, has restored virtually all customer outages associated with the Oct. 29 snow storm, missing its goal of having 99 percent of customers’ service restored by Sunday evening, Nov. 6. Following the storm, CL&P had 831,000 customers without power. Work to restore the less than 50 customers remaining is currently underway as of Nov. 9 and consists mostly of customers who recently informed CL&P that they were still without power.
CL&P is patrolling all 17,000 mi of its overhead distribution system to ensure electrical safety issues have been addressed and to identify storm-damaged trees in close proximity to utility equipment that pose a threat to public safety and the CL&P electrical system. Tree crews will clear trees or limbs that pose a risk.
