Route Options for Bipole III HVDC Transmission Line Now Available
Manitoba Hydro has posted a Bipole III newsletter online, including a map of the proposed options for the new high voltage direct current transmission line between Gillam and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The newsletter provides an overview of the process of consultations that have taken place and are planned in order to inform Manitobans about the project and how the public can have input into routing options. Manitoba Hydro has now developed three optional routes from the originating site north east of Gillam, Manitoba to a proposed station just east of Winnipeg in the Rural Municipality of Springfield. None of the optional routes traverse any National or Provincial Parks.
Along with planned meetings with local governments along the routes, public open houses have been planned in various Manitoba locations over the next several months. The full schedule of open houses will be published in local newspapers and on Hydro's website when the dates are confirmed.
