Middle Tennessee Electric Continues its Distribution System Upgrade in Lebanon
Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corp. (MTEMC) is taking a planned outage in a portion of the electric system of the city of Lebanon, Tennessee, to allow its crews to perform an upgrade to the system. The work is part of an ongoing distribution system upgrade for improved efficiency and reliability.
The program is part of its contract to the city that dates to the purchase of the municipal electric system by MTEMC in the year 2000. Specifically MTEMC crews have been doubling the distribution voltage from 7200 V to 14,000 V and installing new distribution transformers to replace aging units. New conductor is installed where necessary as part of the work.
