Rock Creek Substation
Windtricity Ventures Inc. and White Creek LLC have submitted generation interconnection requests to interconnect up to 150 MW of power from the Goodnoe Hills wind project and up to 200 MW of power from the White Creek wind project into the Federal Columbia River Transmission System.
Interconnection would require BPA to build a new 500/230-kV substation along the John Day-Wautoma 500-kV transmission line. This new facility, to be called Rock Creek substation, will be located in the Goodnoe Hills area, off Hoctor Road in Klickitat County, Wash. Rock Creek substation could also interconnect the proposed Windy Point wind project.
Windtricity Ventures would develop one collector substation and build a 230-kV line to Rock Creek to integrate the projects
White Creek Wind LLC would develop the White Creek collector substation and build a 230-kV line to Rock Creek to integrate the project. The substation and 230-kV line will be built and owned by Klickitat PUD.
Construction is underway on the Rock Creek substation and is expected to be complete in September 2007.
