Upgrade of Tampa Electric Riverview Substation and Lines
Tampa Electric plans to install a second transformer at its Riverview substation, located Southeast of Tampa, Florida, near the intersection of Route 301 and Boyette Rd. and to construct two new distribution circuits on public right-of-way to serve increased residential growth and development. It is not anticipated that the additional transformer will increase the size of the Riverview substation.
One of the new circuits will begin at the existing Riverview substation and will follow a route south along the west side of McMullen Rd. to Balm Riverview Rd., a span of approximately 1.3 miles.
The other new circuit will involve work to replace existing distribution poles along Leonard St., 3rd St. and Tucker Rd. between McMullen Rd. and Balm Riverview Rd. In addition, it will require poles to be replaced on Balm Riverview Rd. north of Boyette Rd., and on McMullen Loop Rd. between McMullen Rd. and Balm Riverview Rd.
To ensure adequate clearance for the new circuits, Tampa Electric will trim trees along the project routes. The project is scheduled to be completed by June 2008Want to use this article? Click here for options!
