TenneT to Relocate High Voltage Pylon Alongside A73 Motorway Near Venlo
TenneT will relocate a high voltage pylon alongside the A73 motorway near Venlo in the south of the Netherlands. The relocation is necessary because the foundation at the current pylon site has subsided.
TenneT regularly inspects its power lines. The problem was discovered during one of these routine inspections. The pylon will be lifted from its current foundation and placed on a new foundation some 10 m away from the original site. The conductors of the 150-kV connection between Boekend and Blerick will remain suspended from the pylon while the work is carried out. However, the power on the line will be switched off before the start of the relocation. The electricity will be diverted to prevent a power outage in the region.
