Western Area Power Administration Approves Wind Farm Interconnection
White Wind Farm, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navitas Energy, Inc., has applied to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Western Area Power Administration (Western), to interconnect its proposed White Wind Farm Project to Western’s transmission system at the existing White Substation, near Brookings, South Dakota. The project would involve building up to 103 2-MW wind turbine generators (WTG or Turbine) with a net capacity of up to 200 MW. Western considered the environmental impacts of the project and has decided to grant the White Wind Farm’s request to interconnect to the White Substation. Taking into consideration the mitigation measures White Wind Farm has incorporated into the project, Western expects no significant long- term or short-term impacts to resources from construction, operation, and maintenance of the proposed project.
