ABB to Supply Transformers to Meet Power Requirements for the Beijing Olympics
ABB has won a contract from the Beijing
Electric Power Corp. for power transformers to strengthen electricity grids in
the city and ensure reliable power for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The transformers will be manufactured locally in
The order is part of the Beijing Electric Power Corporation's $2.7-billion investment in the city's power infrastructure which includes 24 transformers rated at 110 kV. The new units will be installed and operational by July 2007.
