Dubai Electricity and Water Authority Building Two 400-kV Substations
AREVA strengthened its partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) by signing a 150 million euro contract for the delivery of two 400 kV substations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The contract was awarded in partnership with Hyundai Heavy Industries that will supply four power transformers for one of the installations.
AREVA’s substations will help DEWA meet the Emirate’s increasing demand for electricity due to its rapid urban expansion.
This success follows the 500 million euro contract awarded to AREVA in January 2008 by Qatari utility, Kahramaa, as part of its grid expansion program.
