S&C Electric Company Receives Order for VAR Compensation System
S&C Electric Company has received an order for a VAR compensation system from Portland General Electric, an electric utility in Portland, Oregon, for Phase I of their Biglow Canyon Wind Project.
The inverter-based VAR compensation system will be delivered during the summer of 2007 and includes transformers and switched capacitor banks. The project will be constructed, owned, and operated by Portland General Electric.
“We are very pleased to have been selected the VAR compensation system supplier to Portland General Electric and look forward to a successful project. We believe S&C’s familiarity with utility customer expectations, the ability of our inverter design to offer the most cost-effective solution, and the ruggedness and versatility of our packaging were key factors influencing the selection of our system,” said Gerry Keane, S&C’s Manager¾Projects and Project ManagementWant to use this article?
