Chance® has introduced a 900-A continuous version of its ALTD line tension disconnect tool. This rating is achieved by the added side-mounted terminal pads for phase connections. Mechanical connections are made on the end-fittings, cast with integral corona rings. This original 600-A ALTD switch is still available, including a loadbreak option. Both ratings have an EPS® polymer insulator with 200 kV BIL for 15-kV to 35-kV applications, weigh only 11 to 12 lb., field adjust to 90° or 180° blade opening, have loadbreak hooks, ice-breaking pry-out and positive-latching H-frame copper blade.
