AMSC Launches SolarTie Grid Interconnection Solution
American Superconductor Corp. (AMSC) announces the launch of its SolarTie Grid Interconnection Solution. The SolarTie solution combines two of AMSC's proprietary technologies — D-VAR STATCOM solutions and PowerModule power converter systems — that are today connecting more than 15 GW of renewable energy to the grid.
This new offering is a utility-scale grid interconnection system designed for megawatt-scale solar photovoltaic power plants. By coupling best-in-class power-converter capabilities with AMSC's dynamic reactive compensation technology, the SolarTie product represents a fully optimized solution for utility-scale photovoltaic power plant developers.
