Connecticut Light & Power Wrapping Up Restoration Efforts

Over the past weekend, Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) restored power to over 210,000 customers affected by last Thursday’s severe thunderstorms.

Crews continued working to restore power to approximately 2,500 customers on Sunday evening and expected these customers will be restored by midnight Sunday.

“Our employees have been hard at work across the state coordinating with town leaders, state officials and emergency responders to complete this restoration,” said Bill Quinlan, vice president – Customer Solutions. “We understand how difficult it is to be without power, and we appreciate our customers’ understanding and the phenomenal effort of our restoration team.”

Throughout the restoration effort, CL&P responded to 125 emergency 911 calls and replaced 70 broken poles. In addition to CL&P crews and support personnel, utility crews came from Western Massachusetts Electric Company, Public Service of New Hampshire, NSTAR and United Illuminating, and contractor crews came from Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
