To improve billing processes for its largest commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, Seattle City Light (SCL; Seattle, Washington, U.S.) will deploy Itron's Enterprise Edition (IEE) Meter Data Management system.
Deployment of IEE will allow SCL to implement automated data-quality routines, manage the data in a single versioned repository and enable use of the data by multiple utility systems. In addition, Itron MV-PBS will be integrated with IEE and SCL's existing customer information system to help add rate flexibility, reduce errors and operational costs, and improve customer service.
“The ability to process and manipulate interval data is critical to successfully handling complex billing functions,” says Leighton Stewart, SCL program manager. “This helps enhance our key account customer validation and billing process. We also wanted to position the utility for a future where we see greatly increased use of automated metering technology.”
