AREVA T&D Awarded GIS Order in Chennai
AREVA T&D India has been awarded a contract for a gas-insulated substation (GIS) package by Bharat Heavy Electricals, the largest engineering and manufacturing company in the Indian energy sector.
The package is for the manufacture and installation of 420-kV and 230-kV GIS for the Tamil Nadu state utility's North Chennai Thermal Power Project, and will also include the engineering and supply of circuit breaker bays and around 1.5 km (1 mile) of gas-insulated lines.
Valued at approximately 11 million euros, the order is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2010.
