ABB MMS Solution to Support Quality of U.K. Networks
ABB has won an order from National Grid to provide a market management system (MMS) to help balance supply and demand for electricity in the U.K. Network Manager MMS will replace National Grid's current system for managing the U.K.'s electricity demand of more than 55,000 MW. It is a reliable, robust, secure and flexible solution that enables the integration of renewable energy sources. It also improves the performance of applications such as automated dispatch and transmission security, while minimizing the impact on market participants. The solution will support scheduling, real-time management, external interfaces and overall systems integration.
MMS is part of the Network Manager suite offered by Ventyx, which was acquired by ABB earlier this year.
