AFL and LightRiver Technologies Sign Marketing Agreement

AFL has entered into a marketing agreement with LightRiver Technologies, a multi-vendor integrator of next generation transport solutions for mission-critical networks. The agreement positions AFL to be a value-add partner with utilities in North America and to offer a complete communications network solution that is critical to the growing smart grid market.

“The utility market is in a period of significant transformation,” said Rusty Williams, director of Business Development for AFL. “Now, more than ever, utilities need the support of supplier partners to assist in the deployment of information and communication systems to both internal employees and external customers.”

AFL will continue to offer fiber optic cable and accessories, but also offer design, project management and operational services along with access to premier communications transport networking hardware manufacturers. Leveraging LightRiver Technologies’ nationwide resources, both companies will now offer customers complete network solutions.

LightRiver is known for design, engineering and integration services for multi-vendor, multi-technology transport infrastructures using DWDM/ROADM, Packet, IP/MPLS, Carrier Ethernet and Microwave technologies. Combined with AFL’s fiber optic cable, fiber testing and splicing tools, outside plant equipment and accessories, this partnership creates a turnkey mission-critical utility communications network.
