Siemens IT Solutions and Services Joins SAP AMI Lighthouse Council
Siemens IT Solutions and Services, Inc. has joined with utility companies and technology providers as a member of the SAP Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Lighthouse Council. The council is a consortium of vendors and utilities addressing AMI from the back office to the meter, with the objective of integrating the SAP for Utilities solution portfolio with current and future AMI systems. The SAP Lighthouse Council serves as a collaborative advisory body that seeks to define and share best practices for smart meter integration – from the field to back-end utility systems to consumers.
"The SAP AMI Lighthouse Council represents an impressive collection of utility industry leaders working together to advance the development and integration of the burgeoning Advanced Metering Infrastructure," said Holger Kormann, Vice President, Energy, Siemens IT Solutions and Services. "We will bring to the council a wealth of energy industry knowledge and a proven track record in integration with SAP solutions. As an SAP services partner, Siemens is committed to developing AMI approaches that achieve end-to-end integration, while maximizing the success and shareholder value of utility AMI initiatives."
The SAP Lighthouse Council works to develop industry-wide standards and processes to address AMI integration from the meter through the back office. The council is composed of a number of leading utility companies.
