OSI to Supply Mountain Parks Electric with SCADA/DMS System
Colorado's Mountain Parks Electric Inc. (MPEI) has awarded Open Systems International Inc. (OSI) a contract to provide a new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and distribution management system (DMS) system based on OSI's monarch (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform in order to modernize and enhance the utility's operations and operational efficiency.
MPEI's new monarch system will feature the advanced functionality of OSI's next-generation .NET-based graphical user interface, as well as OSI's advanced alarm management system; real-time and historical trending; communications front-end processor; historical information system and data archiving; calculation and scripting subsystem; disturbance data collection; virtual RTU; and energy accounting software products, with monarch interfaces to geographic information system, MultiSpeak and open database connectivity.
In a second phase of this project, MPEI will be implementing advanced DMS functionalities, including electronic mapping, distribution power flow and volt/VAR control.
