Landis+Gyr has won an Advanced Metering Management (AMM) turnkey project worth 40 million Euro from TRE-FOR, a Danish utility. The contract includes the delivery and installation of 200,000 electricity, heat and water meters, communication devices, and a state-of-the-art advanced metering system for data acquisition and processing. In addition Landis+Gyr will provide in-house display units, and systems training and integrate the system into TRE-FOR's IT network.

With this single integrated multi-energy AMM solution, TRE-FOR reduces infrastructure costs and increases overall process efficiency. All energy and customer information is stored onto one system where it can be accessed for commercial, operational and customer service purposes, allowing for billing based on actual consumption. End-users are able to track in real-time their energy consumption via the ecoMeter, an innovative in-house display.

TRE-FOR is piloting the ecoMeter, an in-house display providing consumers with real-time information about electricity, heat and water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and current tariffs, as part of its commitment to increase customers’ energy awareness. End-users are thereby, able to manage their energy usage more efficiently, benefiting not only the environment, but also saving money.

Knud Steen Larsen, CEO of TRE-FOR, said, “It is very important to TRE-FOR that our customers get better service and do not have to read their meters themselves. This state of the art system will provide us with the opportunity to acquire new products for the electricity market, including other solutions that will reduce costs.”
