Indus International, Inc. and MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Incorporated have announced a major new contract with Eesti Energia, the state-owned energy provider in the Republic of Estonia. The multimillion-dollar license, services and maintenance contract includes the solutions of both Indus and MDSI, which announced today the closing of a transaction to combine the two companies.

With more than 19,000 substations; 60,000 km of power lines and 500,000 private and corporate customers across the Republic of Estonia, Eesti Energia faces the challenge of managing its widely distributed transmission and distribution assets and servicing its numerous clients. To reach their current and future goals, the company chose to provide its 1400 users with a full SDM solution providing asset management, customer management, field service management and mobile software from Indus and MDSI.

“Eesti Energia’s long-term vision is to sell energy to 2 million customers across the Baltic Sea region, while improving network quality, expanding our product portfolio and growing our business in electricity and other markets,” said Margus Uudam, OÜ Jaotusvõrk, Manager, Eesti Energia.

The solution selected by Eesti Energia comprises the full Service Delivery Management solution set offered by the combined companies. The implementation will include Indus’ enterprise asset management, field service management and customer information systems/billing applications. And, MDSI will provide dynamic schedule optimization and mobility capabilities to round out the solution.
