Endesa (Spain) has recently finished the modernization and enlargement of the Entrerríos transformer substation in Pedrola, Zaragoza.
The project, which cost Euro 5.5 million, will help improve the quality of service of over 25,000 industrial and residential customers in Ribera Alta del Ebro and offer greater distribution infrastructure capacity along the Ebro corridor.
Entrerríos is a primary substation with a transformation ratio of 220/45 kW and up to 180 MVA capacity. Its state-of-the-art protection, control and remote control equipment is aimed at maximising its efficiency.
At the same time, the electricity networks that converge at this node have also been modernized, thereby ensuring the supply to companies in the region and anticipating market growth which would mean increasing supplies to the region.
The project forms part of ENDESA’s new electricity infrastructure program being rolled out by the company to improve the quality of its service and meet the growing demand in its markets.
The company is to invest Euro 130 million in 2007 on improvement plans in a large number of towns in the three Aragonese provinces.
