Dubai Utility Building Two High-Voltage Substations
Areva has signed a E150 million contract with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority for the delivery of two high-voltage 400kV substations in Dubai. The contract was awarded in partnership with Korea-based Hyundai Heavy Industries, which will supply the four power transformers.
This award follows the E500 million contract awarded to Areva by Qatari utility, Kahramaa, as part of its grid expansion program.
Marco Graziano, executive vice president of Areva's international sales organization for its transmission and distribution activities, said: "With the installation of this equipment, our customer will benefit from our latest technologies that minimize power losses and thereby help reduce CO2 emissions."
