New Substation, Transmission Line will Serve Saigon Hi-Tech Park
Black & Veatch has been selected to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a 110-kV substation and electric transmission line project for the Saigon Hi-Tech Park. This project will ensure reliable energy delivery for a major manufacturing plant being constructed in the Hi-Tech park.
“This important project is an example of the ongoing energy development that is underway in Vietnam,” said John Gustke, regional director of Southeast Asia for Black & Veatch’s energy business.
Gustke added that this is Black & Veatch’s first EPC energy contract in Vietnam. In addition to its energy presence in Vietnam, Black & Veatch also is involved in providing water infrastructure in the country. The Saigon Hi-Tech Park is northeast of Ho Chi Minh City and covers 2256 acres. It focuses on attracting companies involved in semiconductor chips, information technology, telecommunications, automation, precision engineering, new materials, nano and biotech uses applicable to healthcare, drugs and the environment.
