Kuwait Int'l Airport Orders Siemens MV Power System
As part of the expansion of Kuwait International Airport, Siemens Energy has been awarded an order worth 80 million euros for planning, delivery, installation and commissioning of a medium-voltage power-supply system.
The order includes 176 gas-insulated 11-kV medium-voltage switchbays, 49 cast-resin transformers, the complete medium-voltage and low-voltage cable system and the expansion of the SCADA system, installed in 23 new substations. The order also comprises the standby power supply, as well as support for the subsequent maintenance of the system and training of the technical personnel responsible for the system.
The power-supply system is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2010.
