Black & Veatch Wins Saigon Project
Black & Veatch (Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.) has been selected to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a substation and electric transmission line project for Saigon Hi-Tech Park, northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, in Vietnam.
The 110-kV substation will provide 22 kV of power to serve a computer chip manufacturing plant in the park. In addition, Black & Veatch's project work includes a total of 2.5 miles (4 km) of overhead and underground transmission lines that will support the power delivery, with the underground line being one of the first of its kind installed in Vietnam.
Project completion is scheduled in early 2008. This is Black & Veatch's first EPC energy contract in Vietnam.
