ENERGEX Wraps Up $7.3 Million Redlands Power Upgrade
More than 20,000 homes and businesses will benefit from the completion of a US$7.3 million power upgrade at Birkdale in Australia.
A new substation at Randall Road will provide power to suburbs stretching from Capalaba to Birkdale and south to Cleveland, boosting electricity capacity and resulting in a more reliable power supply. The Redlands has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years and with that growth comes increased demand on the power infrastructure.
ENERGEX (Queensland, Australia) has invested heavily in the new 33-/11-kV substation to ensure the local power distribution network is capable of matching current and projected electricity demands of the area. This new substation will ensure the local electricity network meets future growth, and it will provide ENERGEX technicians greater switching options to restore power faster after unexpected power interruptions.
