Greece: VA TECH T&D Settles into Position in Greece
VA TECH Transmission & Distribution (VA TECH T&D), a manufacturer of facilities and equipment for high-voltage transmission and distribution, has obtained another order to build two turnkey substations in the Larissa area from the Greek energy supply company Public Power Corp.
The scope of supply amounts to euro 4 million and consists of two outdoor substations (containing three respectively two 150-kV fields), and in addition to planning and obtaining all the necessary approvals, includes all erection work, the supply and assembly of all components, as well as commissioning of the plant.
Furthermore, VA TECH T&D will supply a 50 MVA power transformer, ten 20-kV fields, protection and control system, as well as all auxiliary equipment for both facilities.
The last decisive contribution of VA TECH T&D was concerning the energy supply in the Olympic Village on the occasion of the Olympic Games last summer in Athens. Now, the VA TECH subsidiary continues its successful positioning on the Greek market with this new order success.
Completion of the facilities is planned for 2006.
