Newly formed WindPole Ventures, LLC (WPV; Lexington, Massachusetts, U.S.) is a wind-energy company that, together with affiliated companies, will create, develop and operate commercial-scale wind-powered electric generating facilities in attractive energy markets throughout the United States. The company's five-year target is to develop 300 MW of wind-energy capacity.

An agreement with American Tower (Boston, Massachusetts) allows WPV access to 1150 of American Tower's 21,000 towers for instrumentation and evaluation of wind-asset resources. The existing sites and their incumbent assets will enable WPV to secure local permits and bring on generating facilities faster and cheaper than other wind developers. WPV and its affiliated companies will generate revenues through the sale of electric power, the monetization of environmental attributes and the monetization of tax benefits from renewable energy projects.
