S&C’s IntelliNode Interface Module provides the next generation of IntelliTEAM operability to a substation breaker, recloser, or other intelligent electronic device by permitting it to function as part of S&C’s unique IntelliTEAM SG Automatic Restoration System. The module interfaces with the microprocessor relay of the breaker or the recloser control, and provides the device with full team member logic and communication capabilities—thus allowing the device to operate as needed to minimize the impact of a fault or loss of source.
The IntelliNode Interface Module uses the same advanced architecture as the protection and control module of S&C’s IntelliRupter PulseCloser. It features a more powerful processor and more memory than the interface module previously offered by S&C, positioning it for new features and applications of IntelliTEAM SG. The IntelliNode Interface Module is available with optional GPS for enhanced-accuracy time stamping.
DNP 3.0-compatible intelligent electronic devices suitable for use with the IntelliNode Interface Module include:
- SEL 351-R1, 351-R2, and 351-S Overcurrent Relays
- Nu-Lec CAPM-5 Recloser Controls
- Cooper Form 6 Recloser Controls
- GE F60 Feeder Management Relays, and
- ABB Ref 550 Protection Relays.
Other devices may be suitable as well.
