LumaSense Technologies, Inc. will host a web seminar on monitoring transformers.

LumaSense Technologies, Inc. will host a web seminar on monitoring transformers on Feb. 21.

“Transformers are critical," said Brett Sargent, senior director of energy solutions at LumaSense Technologies. “More and more, transformers are being challenged with dynamic loading and run for extended periods above the name plate rating. Also, lead times for new transformers are getting longer and longer. Since transformers are loaded more dynamically, there are many questions that need to be answered."

  • Can transformers last the typical 40 years?
  • Has manufacturing changed?
  • Losing a transformer suddenly can disrupt everything. So what do you monitor? Temperature, gas, or a combination of both?
  • How can you maximize the use of this monitoring?

LumaSense Technologies is providing a forum in which these issues will be discussed as part of a three-part industry series. Industry experts will give their perspectives and recommendations on how to maximize and manage transformers safely and reliably.
