Mentor Engineering has announced the certification of its hallmark product, Mentor Ranger, on the TELUS network. As the second-largest telecommunications carrier in Canada, TELUS provides wired and wireless voice, data and video services across the country.

“Mentor’s new and existing clients will benefit from greater network coverage and more wireless options, as Ranger certification on one of Canada’s largest public data (cellular) networks is complete,” says Mike Koebel, vice president of Sales and Business Development at Mentor.

Ranger, a rugged in-vehicle computer, facilitates real-time voice and data communication between drivers and dispatchers, supports work order management functions such as on-the-fly schedule changes, and provides vehicle telemetry and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) information. Ranger’s integrated navigation software allows drivers to access turn-by-turn directional prompts, and Ranger is programmable over-the-air, saving organizations time and money.
