Onset Computer Corp. has unveiled the HOBO Remote Monitoring System, a data logging system that provides energy managers, facility managers and others with instant access to energy and HVAC/R systems data anywhere, anytime via the Internet.

The new system combines ruggedized data logging hardware with built-in GSM cellular communications and HOBOlink, a new Web-enabled software platform. HOBOlink allows users to access current and historical data, set alarm notifications and relay activations, and manage and control HOBO Remote Monitoring systems right from their desktop.

Features include:

  • Fast, easy deployment – The HOBO Remote Monitoring System provides fully integrated data logging and cellular communications in a single unit, eliminating the need for users to integrate components separately. The system features a plug-and-play architecture that allows users to easily connect a range of Smart Sensors without programming, wiring or calibration.
  • Industrial-grade dependability – The system features an innovative, double weatherproof enclosure for years of dependable operation in harsh environmental conditions. This is an advantage, for example, in applications where rooftop HVAC or other outdoor systems needs to be monitored.
  • Full suite of sensors – Users have access to a wide selection of sensors for measuring a range of parameters including temperature, relative humidity, kW, kWh, AC voltage, AC amps, DC amps, gauge and differential pressure, CO2, and more.

The HOBO Remote Monitoring System’s powerful alarm capabilities enable users to set up alarm conditions for any connected sensors and receive automatic notification via email or cell phone text messages when monitored conditions exceed user-defined limits.

The system also includes a relay that can be activated by alarm conditions for automatically turning equipment on and off, such as pumps or ventilators.
